I came to OSU as Becky's technician and lab manager at the beginning of 2017 after finishing my MS, and officially joined the lab as a doctoral student in June 2018. Over the past two years I have worn many hats, splitting my time up into fieldwork, benchwork, training and mentoring undergraduate students, and analyzing data from several previous projects. Most of my energy is put into learning more about bioinformatics, as well as the ongoing organization and sampling efforts of the larger Moorea Virus Project (MVP), a collaborative effort with other scientists from OSU and Rice University to explore the ecology of coral bacterial and viral reefscapes via timeseries in Moorea, French Polynesia. I'm interested in how coral viral communities change on different reef types in response to anthropogenic stressors.
